ANNOUNCING THE HISTORY BANK'S FIRST 2010 AUCTION—WORLD'S FAIRS, OLYMPIC GAMES, DISNEYANA

We are more than a little pleased to announce that beginning this July (the auction is slated to go live July 4 and run until the end of the month), The History Bank will host its own major auctions, probably twice during this calendar year and more frequently in the future. Utilizing some marvelous software developed specifically for collectibles auctions, we will offer our current clients (and hopefully many new ones!) specialized content tailored to the fields in which we work.

The first auction will highlight America's Great Stages—World's Fairs, the Olympic Games and Disney/Disneyland. We selected this theme both to provide a cross-section of material and to keep the auction somewhat limited in size. In coming months we will have more information on the website including a link to the auction when it goes live.

World's Fairs will be highlighted by numerous rare and also less scarce medals, tickets and paper items from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. A particularly rare offering is the WCE Midway Natatorium ticket (pictured at right). Similar items from the 1962 Seattle World's Fair (Century 21 Exposition), 1939 New York and San Francisco fairs, 1964 New York fair and several others will also be featured.

The Olympic stage will include participation medals from several fairs, as well as athletic awards, medals (AAU events) and Olympic guides and paper items. Olympics represented include 1964 Tokyo, 1968 Mexico City and more recent games.

To say Disney has captured the imagination of collectors would be an understatement. We will include an array of items from Disney's earlier years in films and television: Mickey Mouse, Davy Crockett and the Disneyland and Wide World of Disney TV shows, games, decals and toys from the 1930s through the 1960s. Because of the amazing growth in Disneyana in recent years, we will present a broad spectrum of limited and retail items, pins, jewelry and tickets from the opening of Disneyland in 1955 through pin and limited D23 collectibles from the last decade.

Please contact us at norm@thehistorybank.com or phone toll-free at 1-877-585-8818 to ensure you are notified when the auction begins and to receive email updates in the future.

Also, please see our ITEMS FOR SALE. We will be updating and expanding the listings frequently.
